Relatives who have been reduced to lifeless bodies with their hands bound represent a severe collapse of humanity — it is a denial of human dignity. It reflects not only their inability to protect themselves, but also the stripping away of their voice and freedom.
Political power, fear, revenge, and the intensity of ethnic and religious divisions all contribute to such conditions. In the pursuit of victory in war, the value of human life is often ignored. As a result, people are reduced to mere numbers. Their lives, emotions, and relationships are erased, while control and oppression take hold.
