Artist information
This painting reflects the food practices, medicinal properties, and ritual uses associated with indigenous communities in my village. The Kovvai plant grows along the coastal forests of Kaluvenkeni and spreads across the fences of homes. It evokes memories of my childhood and reimagines a return to nature through artistic expression. This plant is rare and holds unique medicinal qualities. Through this painting, I express my desire to protect and regenerate such plant species, emphasizing the importance of preserving them for future generations.
